Indiana Institute of Technology at a Glance:

  • Indiana Tech was established in 1930 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana
  • Four-year degree programs were added in July 1960 and name was changed to Indiana Institute of Technology in 1963
  • Regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; mechanical and electrical engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
  • Four-year, coeducational, residential university providing degree programs in fields ranging from business to criminal science and engineering to computer studies
  • In 2007, the Fort Wayne campus received a generous upgrade – in order to enrich the biomedical engineering curriculum, a life science lab was integrated into the Zollner Engineering Center, designed for both biology and human anatomy and physiology courses
  • Beginning in January 2009, Indiana Tech Online will offer 5 week and 6 week semesters
  • Students can choose between Independent Study or Online Courses

Like many other Indiana Technical Colleges, Indiana Institute of Technology began as an engineering and science college offering 2-year programs. Upon adding 4-year degree programs, Indiana Tech became a university, and currently offers the following degrees at the following levels:  Associate of Science, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Management (MSM), Master of Science in Engineering (MSE).

Indiana Tech Online distinguishes itself from other Indiana Technical Colleges through its mission to provide students with career-focused professional education in the areas of business, computer studies, engineering, and other professional concentrations for active participation in the complex, global society of the 21st century.
