About Ashford University
Ashford University is rich in history. Originally founded in 1918 in Clinton, Iowa as Mount St. Clare College, it became a Franciscan University in 2002. A few years later, the school was acquired and its name was changed to the presently known Ashford University. This year, the school celebrates its 90th anniversary, and continues to maintain the same quality education it has been known to have since the school’s inception.
Ashford University Online Degrees
The school offers a variety of majors within their Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. They also offer a Masters program in Management or Business Administration.
The school does offer a transfer program should students have received prior credits from a previous community college or university, and the university is regionally accredited.
For those attending classes on campus, Ashford University offers a 12:1 student to faculty ratio, something that is usually unheard of in many colleges. Here students can have more personal contact with their professors and instructors.
Ashford University Online Accelerated Degree Programs
For those not in the general Iowa area, Ashford University Online is here to help! Not only can you complete your degree online, Ashford University Online offers accelerated degrees for both the Bachelors and Masters degrees.
For accelerated degrees, 5 week and 6 week courses are offered and are taken one at a time, allowing you to earn your degree within 12 months! If you have previous coursework completed, you can transfer up to 99 credits towards this accelerated degree program.
What to expect from Ashford University Online Accelerated Classes
In terms of how the online classes work, they use a platform called “Blackboard”. Here students can log in 24 hours/day and communicate with their fellow students and professors about the course, get assignments and post completed assignments. The school suggests logging in at least twice per week to Blackboard in order to make sure you are keeping up with the course.
For those needing additional help, fear not! Each online student is given an academic advisor who will be there to help you with anything you may require. Students are automatically allowed up to two hours of free tutoring as well.
