Accelerated Associate Degree
Accelerated Associate Degree: A Wise First Step
- If you’re setting off on your college journey and you’ve got concerns about the cost of credits at the school you want to earn your diploma from…
- If you eventually want to get your BA or BS but are still undecided about a school or major…
- If continuing your education will show your employer you’re a motivated, viable employee…
- If you don’t have a degree on your resume yet…
…then an accelerated associate degree is an excellent way to get started.
What are you waiting for?
When high school seniors are looking at their future plans, a huge amount of emphasis is put on choosing a school, choosing a major, and choosing a career path. But real life doesn’t let you plan it when you’re 17, and if you haven’t yet learned that, you will soon.
An accelerated associate degree puts you on the path to fulfilling your educational goals even if you’re not sure what those goals are yet. If you don’t have the background to get into your dream school yet, an accelerated associate degree gives you the chance to prove yourself at the college level and boost your transcripts. If you know you want to get your bachelor’s but you’re torn between majors–or have no idea what major you might want to choose–getting your associate’s first saves you time and money. You can go to a less expensive school, and take care of all of your core requirements. Your accelerated associate degree will transfer much more predictably than individual credits. And in taking college level course work across the range of core subjects you cover in an associate’s, you’re much more likely to decide on a major efficiently than you would trying this one or that one out and then later abandoning it.
