TWU Offering Online PhD Program in Fall of 2010
Texas Women’s University is the largest university for women in the US that is supported by the state. Aside from this distinction, TWU is also known to have the largest nursing doctoral program in the world and one of the oldest in America. However, the school plans on increasing their number of students even more. TWU offering online PhD program in fall of 2010 is one of the ways they will do this.
The school will start accepting online PhD nursing students for their fall semester this year. The program will be 100% online. There are two options available for interested students. There is a full-time option and a part-time type for anyone who cannot dedicate the allotted time to be a full-time student. Full-time students will be able to take the PhD program in ten semesters.
TWU offering online PhD program in fall of 2010 is also the school’s way of ensuring that the need for more teachers in Nursing in Texas and the whole country is answered. With an online course, anyone interested on a professorship in Nursing will have the opportunity to pursue his or her dream. A PhD in Nursing is also a great way to experience career advancement in any health care facility that the student may be currently in.
With an emphasis on research, TWU hopes that online students of their PhD Nursing program will helpĀ nurses to become administrators, teachers, and leaders in the field.
